In my stores you'll find something for everyone: home furnishings, china, glassware, silver, fine linens, ceramics, candles of all colors, toys, floral and seasonal decorations, cookware, utensils, gadgets and gourmet foods and wine. I select my products with a keen eye and sense of style.

Stop by and see our elegant and enticing window displays: often subtle, sometimes humorous, always eye-catching. Our displays change frequently and are not only seasonal, but topical, too.

Late in the year, our shops are a destination for many Fredericksburg residents and visitors, seeking gifts, holiday ornaments and decorations. My knowledgeable and friendly staff is ready to assist the most discrimination of shoppers.

The Kitchen at Whittingham is stocked with everything beginning cooks to experienced gourmands need: small appliances, hard to find kitchen gadgets, utensils, cookware, and gourmet foods like pastas, sauces and oils. Our wine selection focuses on great flavor for a great value. We carry varietals and blends to suit any palate.

Our in-store kitchen plays host to cooking classes, demonstrations and seasonal wine tastings. Past classes include: Dim Sum, Stir Fry, Summer Salads, Six Minute Desserts, Table Settings, and more.

History of Whittingham

After a 35-year career devoted to style and a former position as Display Director for Cartier in New York, I opened my first store in 1994. Located in the heart of downtown Fredericksburg, the 300 square foot space has moved twice and grown to become two complete stores, Whittingham and The Kitchen at Whittingham, spanning nearly 7,500 square feet.
